Nicole and Michael’s journey began on Christian Mingle, August 9th, 2021. Depending on which one you ask, you may get a different version of their love story. Michael tells it as though Nicole pursued him and that he won the ‘DJ battles’ they spent hours playing in the first months after they met. Sharing their love of music by exchanging YouTube videos was one of the common interests they enjoyed from the beginning. Nicole, on the other hand, hardly calls sending a smiley face emoji ‘pursuing,’ and says after assigning a brief ‘friend zone’ designation that it was all Michael.

Regardless of their competitive approach to music, Nicole and Michael clearly had a unified approach to one another. They quickly became the best of friends, speaking for hours at a time on the phone like teenagers, and realizing that kindness, attentiveness and respect were not a lost art.

After their first meeting in Montreal several months later they were inseparable. Despite their long distance relationship with Michael being in Bloomfield, Connecticut and Nicole in Toronto, Canada their friendship and love grew.

They would both describe themselves as lovers of Christ, community, and people. Michael’s 25+ year career as a middle school teacher and Nicole’s nearly 17 years as a registered midwife, have allowed them to take their love for service and begin a new trajectory.

After experiencing life lessons in unique and challenging ways, Nicole and Michael look forward to a journey of love, peace and joint pursuit of purpose in Christ. This is the culmination that their marriage will be founded and built upon.
